VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

A motorcycle driver hurt in an accident in Vanderburgh County Friday afternoon at Big Cynthiana and Weiss Road.

Officials say the driver, 66-year-old Jeffrey Stevens, left his side of the road for unknown reasons and struck a guard rail.

They tell us Stevens was then ejected landing in the roadway.

We're told Deputy Bryan Bishop attempted to stop bleeding from Stevens leg with a tourniquet to stop blood loss.

Authorities say Stevens was flown to St. Mary's Hospital by Life Flight helicopter.

They currently do not suspect that alcohol or drugs was a factor in the crash.

Witnesses tell us the driver was not wearing a helmet and has injuries to his face and legs.

No other vehicles were involved.
