New North Augusta Walmart to bring 300 jobs

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WFXG) -

Walmart is planning to open a second store in North Augusta this fall. 

The company is hiring about 300 associates to work at the new store, which will be located on Edgefield Road near exit 5 off I-20. 

A temporary hiring center is open at 517 Edgefield Road. Applications will be accepted between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and between 8 a.m. and noon Saturday. 

Applicants can also apply online at careers.walmart.com. The company is looking for full- and part-time associates. 

Through Walmart's Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged in the past 12 months. Interested veterans may find out more at walmartcareerswithamission.com.

Most associates will start in September to help prepare for the store's grand opening.

This will be the second Walmart in North Augusta. The first one is located at 1201 Knox Ave.
