Officers seek information about gas station armed robber

Officers are still searching for the man who held up a North Augusta Gas Station Tuesday night.

North Augusta Public Safety Officers said a man walked into the Save Stop at Old Edgefield Road and Atomic Road Tuesday night with a gun and demanded money from two employees. Witnesses told police he was dressed black and he was wearing a ski mask. No one injured, but the suspect got away on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers said they need the public's help finding him.

"It's unfortunate. We didn't have a description because he had a ski mask on, and the only visible body feature was his eyes," said Lt. Tim Thorton. "We didn't even have a significant trail to even start with the bloodhounds. We're basically at the mercy of anybody that might know something right now."

Anyone with information can contact the North Augusta Public Safety at 803-279-2121 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
