MANILA, PHILIPPINES (APTN/FOX) - A 19-year-old computer whiz wants to be the youngest pilot to fly solo around the world.

Matt Guthmiller from Aberdeen, SD, landed for a stop in the Philippines on a trip that started in the U.S. in May.

He is trying to set a Guinness World Record to raise money and support for computer education.

"If you have some big idea just go out, break it down, figure out how to do it and you can go and do it," Guthmiller said. "You know, you can fly solo around the world, you can have an idea and start a company. You can use computer science to do that. That's kind of what I am supporting - Code.org to promote computer science education.

"So there's lots of tools out there. Just go and do something."

Guthmiller, a student at MIT, went across the Atlantic, through Europe and the Middle East, then onto Asia.

He's planning more stops in Asia, Australia and Hawaii before landing at home in South Dakota on July 14.
