GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - Georgetown Hospital System is helping patients understand the medical complications of overweight and obesity with a new weight management program called NuMed.

The program offers opportunities for patients to lose weight and promotes healthier lifestyles. A physician will supervise NuMed. The physician will offer behavior modification, meal replacements, medication and bariatric surgery to meet the needs of each client.

There will be three informational sessions at the following locations and dates:

July 7, 7 p.m. Waccamaw Medical Park West, Suite 302

July 14, noon. Waccamaw Medical Park West, Suite 302

July 21, 7 p.m. Waccamaw Medical Park West, Suite 302

A GHS will lead the sessions and there will be time for questions and answers. There will be a 20 percent discount for participants who enroll in the new program.
