Suspect in Williston shooting turns himself in to police

WILLISTON, SC (WFXG) -

The suspect in a shooting that killed 19 year-old D'Andre Gleaton has turned himself into police.

Raekwon Clifton, 17, surrendered to the Williston Police Department, according to a statement on their Facebook page.

Clifton is a suspect in the shooting death of D'Andre Gleaton, according to the Williston Police Department. 

Officers responded to a shots fired call at 10:43 p.m. on Nottingham Road. Police said they saw about 30 people in the area, but no one seemed to know anything about a shooting. 

Anonymous tips started coming in, and police discovered that Gleaton had been shot and transported in a private vehicle to the hospital in Barnwell. 

Gleaton was flown to Georgia Regents Medical Center, where he later died.

Police are still asking witnesses to come forward as they investigate the incident. Anyone with information about the shooting can contact Williston Police Investigator Rodney Pruitt at 803-300-2241 or Barnwell County dispatch at 803-541-1078.
