CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office has ended their search Friday afternoon in the West Ashley area in an effort to gather clues in the disappearance of Gayle McCaffery.

Authorities say the search was focused mainly on the areas surrounding Highway 61 and Bees Ferry Road. Gayle McCaffrey was reported missing from her home by her husband, Robert McCaffrey, on March 18, 2012.

According to a release, authorities were not able to locate any new clues in the disappearance of McCaffrey.

Robert McCaffrey told deputies he last saw his wife on March 17 around 10 p.m. before he left their home and traveled to Easley, SC. Gayle McCaffrey, then 36, has been missing ever since.

Previous searches throughout Charleston County for clues regarding Gayle McCaffrey's disappearance have been unsuccessful.

Deputies say Robert McCaffrey is still considered a suspect in his wife's disappearance.
