"Our Human Resources Division is on the road again this summer," said Commissioner Avery Niles.  "These job fairs are free and with the exception of some military career fairs, most events will be open to the general public. We're offering these excellent job opportunities to mature, responsible civilian and veteran applicants looking for fulltime employment in our state agency workforce."

Governor Nathan Deal has pledged one of Georgia's top economic priorities is to ensure that Georgia veterans find meaningful employment as they return home. "Our veterans have served selflessly and it's our duty to provide them with real opportunities as they seek to reenter the civilian workforce," Governor Deal said.

DJJ's Commissioner actively supports Governor Deal's ‘Hire a Georgia Veteran' initiative. "The Governor's strategy to employ returning veterans bolsters our workforce with experienced individuals who bring valuable skillsets to the workplace and carry them seamlessly into new correctional careers at DJJ," said Commissioner Niles. "The State of Georgia is an excellent career destination for returning veterans."

DJJ offers a one-time Military Salary Increase Incentive on eligible job titles to current and former military service members who have served on active duty. To be eligible, service members must have an Honorable Discharge.  The one-time incentive is based upon the current number of active duty years served.
