Lane closures, maintenance scheduled for Augusta roads this week

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Several lane closures and maintenance projects are scheduled for Augusta roads this week, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. 

One road on each side of Deans Bridge Road between Kipling Road and Augusta Tech Drive between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

The west inside lane on I-520 from Gordon Highway to the railroad bridge will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

A rolling lane closure is also scheduled for River Watch Parkway between mile markers 0.4 and 7.51 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.Crews will be putting down reflective stripes that help drivers see the road at night and in the rain.

Motorists should also watch out for maintenance work and construction on the following roads between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday:

  • mowing on State Route 28 between mile markers 4 and 5
  • mowing on State Route 56 between mile markers 0 and 9
  • mowing on State Route 10 between mile markers 14 and 16
  • single lane closure for concrete slab repair on I-20 east and west between mile markers 201.2-200

Flagmen will be used for closures and work in some areas. Heavy equipment will be entering and exiting the roadway. Motorists are asked to use caution, reduce their speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones.
