AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Richmond County deputies are looking for a man and woman suspected of stealing money from two other people.

A man approached a woman and her sister around 5:50 p.m. on May 22 in the parking lot of Station House gas station at 2419 Peach Orchard Rd., deputies said.

The man claimed to be the store manager and told the women they had received too much money when they cashed a check inside the store moments earlier, deputies said. The victim handed the receipt and the money she had just received to the man who claimed to be the store manager.

Deputies said the man took the money and ran away toward Tudor Drive. He was accompanied by a woman.

The man who claimed to be the manager was wearing a red cap, red T-shirt and khaki shorts, according to the sheriff's office. The woman with him was wearing a white short-sleeve shirt and blue jeans and was carrying a large purse.

Anyone with information leading to the identity of the man and woman in the surveillance photos can contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division at 706-821-1020.
