It's getting hot outside, and Columbia County is making sure folks have a cool place to take refuge from the heat.
Cooling centers opened up across Columbia County Sunday and will be open through Sept. 30.
Senior citizens, infants, children, and people with chronic medical conditions are more prone to heat stress, said Pam Tucker, EMA director for Columbia County, Air conditioning is the number one protective factor.
