An Aiken man is still missing after he disappeared on a kayaking trip in Florida.

Coast Guard crews have searched more than 5,300 square nautical miles for David Lemonds.

Other kayakers say they saw Lemonds leave John U. Lloyd Beach State Park on Thursday morning in a 12-foot yellow ocean kayak.

Park rangers alerted the Coast Guard on Friday morning after seeing that Lemonds' truck remained stationary and untouched overnight.

Coast Guard sea and air crews are searching the waters off the Dania Beach park.

So far, state wildlife officers and Coast Guard crews have found no trace of Lemonds.
