6 Reid's grocery stores in SC to close, re-open as Bi-Lo stores

Six Reid's grocery stores in South Carolina will close on May 31 and re-open as Bi-Lo grocery stores.

The following Reid's locations will re-open as Bi-Lo on June 6:

  • 10560 Dunbar Rd. in Barnwell
  • 603 Main St. N. in New Ellenton
  • 1048 York St. N.E. in Aiken
  • 2587 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Warrenville
  • 5982 W. Jim Bilton Blvd. in Saint George
  • 605 Travis Ave. in Saluda

The changes are coming after the Bi-Lo Holdings Group received permission from the Federal Trade Commission in February to acquire substantially all of the stories in the Reid's, Harveys and Sweetbay supermarket chains.

"These new stores are not the Bi-Los customers think they know," said Allen Reavis, Bi-Lo regional vice president. "Customers love Reid's and we do, too, which is why we are partnering with Reid Boylston to marry the best of Reid's with the best of Bi-Lo at these six stores and eight neighboring Bi-Lo stores."

Eight other stores will also adopt several popular Reid's products and programs, including the on at 1016 Pine Log Rd. in Aiken and the one at 155 Carolina Square in Edgefield.

All 14 stores will be open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and will serve breakfast starting at 6 a.m. daily.
