Doctors Hospital's Book and Bag sale

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Doctors Hospital raised money for the American Red Cross of Augusta with their first ever Bag and Books sale, Thursday evening.

The fundraising event was held from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Doctors and people from the community donated gently used hand bags, books and other items to be sold at the event. There were also several items auctioned off in a silent auction.

"We're really lucky to have some really good employees who work at Doctor's Hospital who think about giving back to the community so often and we're really looking forward to giving the American Red Cross a nice check to help with the things they do in the city," said Lindsay Thetford, the Digital Media and Communication Manager for Doctors Hospital.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the American Red Cross of Augusta's Team Smith Heroes Campaign.
