Neighbors on high alert after pizza man is robbed on their street

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Neighbors on Carrington Drive are on high alert after a pizza man was robbed on their street Saturday night.

An incident report from the Richmond County Sheriff's office said Nathaniel Waid was delivering for Pizza Hut around midnight when three men came up, took his wallet, his keys and the pizza.

Markedia Hunt lives in the area and said she's disgusted.

"You don't have to take from him," Hunt said, "You don't have to rob him. I find that disgusting. I find that very disgusting."

Deputies said one of the men held a golf club to Waid's head and demanded he empty his pockets. A second pushed him to the ground and a third pulled out a gun.

"When he exited his vehicle, he was approached by three black males," Sgt. Michael McDaniel said, "They appeared to be 18-25 years of age. One took out a handgun and struck the victim in the head."

Hunt said she wants the three who did this to pay.

"It makes me scared for my life," Hunt said, "I'm just wondering who would do such a thing. I order pizza all the time because I have kids."

Waid told deputies he didn't get a good look at the men, but said he knows one was wearing a fishing hat and all black clothing.
