Body found near dumpsters in Jefferson Co. identified

WADLEY, GA (WFXG) - The woman whose body was found Monday near some dumpsters in Jefferson County was identified as 29-year-old Janillah Mia Holmes, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office officials said Tuesday.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the sheriffs office are investigating Holmes' death as a homicide, said Lt. Robert Chalker with the sheriff's office.

Her body was discovered around 11 a.m. when a worker was emptying the dumpsters off River Road near Wadley, GBI Special Agent in Charge Pat Morgan.

Autopsy results for Holmes are still pending, Chalker said. Holmes lived in the 700 block of Crabapple Drive in Sandersville.
