HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Alabama A&M hosted the first ever Family Field Day and Resource Fair Saturday. It gave families the chance to learn about summer youth activities such as day camps and educational programs.

Kids got to get physical and find out about healthy habits. It is coordinated with the city of Huntsville, and organizers plan to make it an annual event.

"The city of Huntsville is a great place to be," said Daniel Kasambara with the Alabama A&M Student Health and Wellness Center. "The quality of life is outstanding. To bring all of these resources, and individuals, and corporate organizations together under one roof to get the information out at one time, it's very important because partnership is essential to a successful community."

In addition to health tips, there was guidance available to help young people know more about how to find employment.
