AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Representatives for SafeHomes of Augusta were asking for high fives at the Augusta Mall Saturday afternoon.
The competition involved two women asking for high fives from shoppers to help raise awareness about domestic violence in the CSRA.
Aimee Hall, the executive director for SafeHomes, says the event is held in May because of a holiday that honors women.
"We always choose Mother's Day because it's about women. There's a lot of men here buying for Mother's Day so we really want men to understand about domestic violence and so we just figured this would be the best venue," Hall says.
There were also donation boxes and T-shirt sales to help give back to the organization.
