Golden Harvest Food Bank participates in 'Stamp Out Hunger' Saturday

Golden Harvest Food Bank is teaming up with Feeding America network partners across the country and joining the Stamp Out Hunger community food drive on Saturday.

CSRA residents can leave non-perishable food donations in a sturdy bag by their mailboxes, and mail carriers will collect the donations as they deliver the mail.

"Stamp Out Hunger is one of our favorite initiatives each year because it's a great way for the community to get involved and benefit their neighbors locally, and at the same time be a part of a huge national movement of service that day," Executive Director Travis McNeal said.

Campbell Soup Company, AARP Drive to End Hunger, United Way, Publix, the U.S. Postal Service, the National Rural Letter Carriers' Association, the AFL-CIO, Valpak, Valassis and Uncle Bob's Self Storage are all national partners supporting this year's Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

"Too many people in this country are still going hungry," NALC President Fredric Rolando said. "It's an honor to be able to help people in need by leading an effort that brings out the best in so many Americans. Six days a week, letter carriers see first-hand the needs in the communities where we work, and we're committed to helping meet those needs."

Last year, letter carriers collected 74.4 million pounds of food donations along their postal routes, the second-highest amount since the NALC's food drive began in 1992.

Standing alongside Putin, Trump steered clear of any confrontation with the Russian, going so far as to question American intelligence and last week's federal indictments that accused 12 Russians of hacking into Democratic email accounts to hurt Hillary Clinton in 2016.
