Deputies arrest suspect in Sage Creek car break-ins

A 20-year-old man who was wanted in connection with a string of car break-ins in the Sage Creek subdivision is behind bars. 

Aiken County deputies and New Ellenton police arrested Christopher Griffin at a home on the 100 block of Long Creek Drive, according to the sheriff's office. 

Griffin is accused of using stolen credit card at the Whiskey Road Walmart and at the BP gas station at the corner of Whiskey Road and Powerhouse Road on April 24, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies said the credit card he used was stolen earlier that morning during a string of car break-ins in the subdivision.

Griffin was booked at the Aiken County Detention Center on one warrant for breaking into a motor vehicle, two warrants for financial transaction card theft, three warrants for financial transaction card fraud and two bench warrants.
