TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Toledo Public Schools student who brought a gun into Start High School at the end of April is now facing felony charges.

Willie Carter, 18, was already arraigned for bringing a gun to school on April 28. On Thursday, a Lucas County grand jury indicted Carter on multiple charges, including having a weapon while on disability, carrying a concealed weapon, illegal possession of a deadly weapon within a school safety zone and trafficking marijuana. All four charges are felony offenses.

Carter's case now moves to Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Carter was arrested after a Toledo Police Department school resource officer saw him bring a loaded 45 caliber gun into the high school. After a brief physical struggle, Carter surrendered when the officer drew his gun. Police say they also found a large amount of marijuana packaged for sale on Carter.

No shots were fired and no one was injured.

The school was put on lockdown as lockers and backpacks were searched as a precaution.
