Aiken woman charged with Social Security fraud

A 44-year-old Aiken woman was charged Thursday on a two-count indictment.

Brenda Lee Corley was indicted for Social Security fraud and theft of government funds, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Columbia. 

The maximum penalty Corley could receive is 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was investigated by the Social Security Administration and is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney T. DeWayne Pearson of the Columbia office for prosecution.
