HEPHZIBAH, GA (WFXG) -

Officials are investigating a mobile home fire in Hephzibah, according to the Georgia Safety Fire Commissioner's Office.

The fire started around 8:40 a.m. at a mobile home on the 2300 block of Mims Road, said Glenn Allen spokesman for the commissioner's office.

Investigators believe the man living there set the house on fire and then shot himself, Allen said.

The body was sent to the GBI crime lab in Atlanta for identification, Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said.

Officials are continuing to investigate.
