Construction, maintenance scheduled for Augusta roads

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Several lane closures and maintenance projects are scheduled for Augusta roads this week.

The inside lane on each side of I-520 between mile markers 5 and 6 will be closed between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Monday and Tuesday for removal of a barrier wall.

The same lanes will be closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday and Friday for a concrete pour.

A single lane on both sides of Gordon Highway between Barton Chapel and North Legg will be closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for grading.

There will also be a single lane closure on State Route 4 (Deans Bridge Road) between Glenn Hills Road to Kipling Drive between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

A single lane on Wrightsboro Road from Flowing Wells Road to Luke Road between 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

Maintenance is also scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the following locations:

  • Bridge maintenance, State Route 415 (Bobby Jones Expressway), mile markers 7-15
  • Ditch maintenance, State Route 121 (Peach Orchard Road), mile marker 7.5-7.6
  • Ditch maintenance, State Route 56 (Mike Padgett Highway), mile marker 12.9-13.1
  • Concrete slab repair, I-20 west, mile marker 201.2-200

Flagmen will be used. Motorists are asked to use caution, reduce their speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in all work zones.
