Gov. Nathan Deal signed a budget into law on Monday that offers perks to educators and farmers, among others.
The 2015 fiscal plan will take effect on July 1. The $20.8 billion blueprint puts more than $300 million back into schools to eliminate furloughs and give teachers pay raises, and it also pumps more than $800 million into construction projects to build new schools, college buildings and assist the effort to deepen Savannah's port.
