AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Richmond County deputies are asking for the public's help identifying a man wanted in connection with a string of car break-ins in the Windermere subdivision.

Between 9 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday, someone broke into numerous vehicles in the subdivision and stole items, including some lottery tickets.

Around 5:20 p.m., a man was seen in the Smart Grocery at 3221 Wrightsboro Rd. cashing in several lottery tickets stolen from one of the vehicles.

The man is described as light-skinned man of medium build in his early 20s with braids in his hair, according to the sheriff's office. He was clean-shaven, was wearing a white T-shirt with a skull design on the front, a green and black jacket and dark-colored jeans.

He was last seen in a white, older-model (approximately 2005) Chevrolet Impala.

Anyone with any information leading to the identity of the suspect can call the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1080 or the Criminal Investigation Division at 706-821-1020. Callers may remain anonymous.

More than half of the 17 people killed when a tourist boat sank on a Branson lake were members of the same Indiana family, and they likely wouldn't have been on the ill-fated trip but for a ticket mix-up.
