TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The suspicious bag near the courthouse has been blown apart via a high pressure water hose, according to Tucson Police.

Personnel with EOD sprayed the bag with a high pressure water hose, ripping it to pieces, now crews are examining the contents of the bag.

A call came in shortly after 6:15 a.m. this morning, according to TPD, reporting a suspicious package near the Federal Courthouse downtown.  The suspicious package had been wedged in the courtyard facing the building, this is according to workers who found it initially.

EOD crews arrived and examined the package via a robot to determine it was sports bag, a crew member then x-rayed the bag to view its contents.  It was after this point the water was used to rip the bag apart.

Employees are being let back inside the courthouse, and traffic remains slow in the area as crews work to clear the scene.
