DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

The trial for the third man charged in connection with a Decatur murder is underway.

Jameson Staten's attorneys said he had no idea Lorin Wilson was going to shoot Glenn Blackwood; that he thought they were going to the victim's apartment to pick up marijuana. Prosecutors said he did know, and that he stood lookout as the shooting happened.

His two co-defendants, Lorin Wilson and Steven O'Neal King, made guilty pleas Monday. Wilson, who pulled the trigger, will be sentenced later. King was sentenced to three years in prison.

All three were Decatur High School students when the shooting happened in 2012. Tuesday, a woman who was a fellow student and who is Staten's friend, testified that as she rode in the car that night with the three, Wilson said that if Blackwood didn't give him his money, he was going to kill him.

Several Decatur police officers also testified Tuesday about the crime scene and the initial investigation.

The prosecution will continue its case Wednesday morning.
