Police investigating two shootings in Westwood

WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati police are investigating a homicide Friday night in Westwood.

Police received a report of a person shot around 11:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Percy Avenue. 

The victim was identified as 38-year-old black male, Jackie Perkins. Officials say Perkins was taken to University Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

This is the second offense that occurred in Westwood Friday. The first offense happened at 6:00 a.m. on Worthington Avenue.

Officers found Dawan Trotter, 25, who apparently died from gunshot wounds in the yard of a residence.

Police say they are investigating if these two homicides are connected.
