Pedestrian stuck, critically injured, on K-10

JOHNSON COUNTY, KS (KCTV) -

Police say a person walking on K-10 Highway in Johnson County, KS, was struck and critically wounded Friday evening.

The person was identified as 41-year-old Eric Martin of Gardner, KS.

The accident occurred just west of K-7. Johnson County Medact confirmed the victim was triaged "red," or critical, and was transported to an area trauma center.

The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of K-10 Highway. Unconfirmed reports indicate the victim may have gotten out of a vehicle on the highway before being struck.

The Kansas State Highway Patrol is investigating.
