GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

About 1,900 Salt River Project customers in Glendale lost power after several power poles were knocked down, causing a brief electrical box fire Friday morning.

A Glendale Police Department spokesman said a tow truck snagged some sagging power lines and a cable line while trying to tow a vehicle from a neighborhood about 11 a.m. in the area of Bethany Home Road and 59th Avenue.

The trucks pulled down the wires that caused a fire in the back yard of a house that was quickly extinguished, said a Glendale Fire Department spokesman. The house was not damaged.

Several other poles were also pulled down, broken off or leaning.

Two poles and lines were down in the area of 61st Avenue and Montbello and were on top of one home, though it didn't catch fire, said Tracey Breeden of the Glendale Police Department.

Power was expected to be restored after noon.

No other information was immediately available.
