PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A former Beaverton teacher serving eight years in prison on federal charges including possession of child pornography is not guilty of sex abuse.
Logan Storm, sentenced to prison last year, went to trial in a separate Multnomah County case alleging he abused two underage girls at a public swimming pool at the Mt. Scott Community Center in 2007.
A jury found the 38-year-old not guilty Friday on sex abuse charges.
The Storm saga began unfolding in 2010 when he resigned from teaching at Stoller Middle School amid criminal accusations. Federal officers serving a search warrant at his home said they found thumb drives containing hundreds of images of children being sexually abused.
Within 24 hours of that search warrant, Storm left the state, drove to Canada and boarded a plane to London. He spent the next nine months in western Europe before being persuaded to return to the U.S.
He was convicted on child pornography charges in January 2013. He was released from custody pending a sentencing hearing set for April and fitted with an ankle monitoring bracelet.
Investigators said he removed the ankle bracelet that day and took off. The bracelet was later found at a Troutdale park.
Storm was caught and arrested in Mexico in March 2013. Despite claiming he was not, in fact, Logan Storm, he was deported several days later and taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and returned to Portland.
He was sentenced in September 2013 to seven years in prison on child pornography charges and another year for failing to appear in court.
