Holyoke police, FBI, ATF arrest 8 in heroin raid

HOLYOKE, MA (WSHM) -

The Holyoke police narcotics unit arrested eight individuals following a drug raid April 4.

Authorities, including the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit, the FBI's Western Mass Gang Task Force and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), executed a search warrant at 128 Beach St. They searched the first and second-floor right apartments, according to Holyoke police Lt. Jim Albert

Law enforcement seized more than 100 bags of heroin, several grams of cocaine and marijuana and more than $4,000 in cash. Police also seized two-way radios and packaging materials consistent with street-level narcotics sales and distribution operations, Albert said.

Police charged Angel Padilla, 44, Henry Pabon-Santos, 21, Danny Alvarado, 27, Solimar Rivera, 22, all of Holyoke, and Jose Suarez, 28, of Chicopee, with possession of a class A substance, possession of a class B substance, possession of a class D substance, possession with intent to distribute a class A substance, possession with intent to distribute a class B substance, possession with intent to distribute a class D substance and conspiracy to violate drug laws, according to an arrest report. 

Additionally police charged Jose Espinoza-Dejesus, 27, and Javier Rosado, 23, both of Holyoke, with possession of a class A substance, possession with intent to distribute a class A substance and conspiracy to violate drug laws. 19-year-old Jonathan Gonzalez, of Chicopee, was charged with trespassing, Albert said.

All of the suspects were arraigned in Holyoke District Court earlier this week.
