PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A tip led deputies to an undocumented immigrant who they say was making fake identification cards in his Glendale apartment.

Investigators say the guy they arrested has 20 different aliases but his real name is Gustavo Carranza-Villa.

The 35-year-old was arrested after he reportedly sold several different types of fake identification cards and false Social Security cards to undercover deputies.

Investigators said Carranza-Villa was deported in 2006 after federal officials caught him doing the same thing.

"In the past with all of our investigations a large number were stealing someone's Social Security number or faking one but very unusual to find someone actually make the fake identification," said Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Investigators are still trying to figure out if the information he was using was stolen or if he was just making it up.

Deputies told CBS 5 this case may be linked to another case in New York State.
