First on Fox: Woman swings knife at man, neighbors worried about the area

Gary Thompson said he's heard gunshots near his home off Etterlee road. But what he neighbors talking about Thursday morning shocked him.

"It shocked me because it's the first time I've ever heard of anyone getting stabbed out here," Thompson said.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office said it was a fight between Patrick Ford and his live-in-girlfriend, Shelley Coleman, at 4562 Etterlee Road. The two were arguing when it got heated Wednesday night around 9P.M.

Sgt. Michael McDaniel said, "We found a victim who had blood on the front part of his shirt. The defendant took a knife and started swinging it at the victim, causing minor lacerations to his hand and his chest."

Ford was transported to GRU, but is going to be ok. Coleman is in custody and is facing an aggravated assault charge.

Deputies are not sure what kind of knife was used.
