1 person dead, 1 injured in shooting

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting early Tuesday on Broad Street, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

The two victims were shot near Broad Street at the on-ramp to eastbound Gordon Highway, Sgt. Shane McDaniel said. When Richmond County deputies arrived, they were told the victims' vehicle had continued onto eastbound Gordon Highway into South Carolina.

The victims were found in a wrecked car near Greg's Gas Plus at 6043 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in North Augusta, according to an North Augusta Department of Public Safety incident report. Officers said it appeared the vehicle spun out and crashed into a ditch. 

Antonio Counts, 28, of North Augusta was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

Donald Hill, 34, also of North Augusta was found inside the vehicle with several gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
