PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

Gov. Jan Brewer has signed the budget into law, setting state spending at $9.23 billion for the coming budget year.

Brewer signed the budget Friday, but she vetoed some line items. [Click here to read the full budget.]

"This budget keeps us on the path to restoring the state to a structurally balanced budget by 2016 and protects the rainy day fund while addressing critical priorities like child protection, public safety and education," Brewer said in a statement Friday. The House and Senate approved the budget on Monday after a weekslong stalemate over funding for the new child welfare agency and education.

The budget for the fiscal year starting July 1 gives district charter schools $24.5 million to keep them running for another year. The Senate's original budget would have defunded the schools, while the House one gave them $33 million.

The budget also includes language that commits lawmakers to consider additional funding for the new child welfare agency.

The governor vetoed some funding, including a $1.3 million appropriation to counties losing money through a power tax cut for manufacturers that she signed Friday morning.
