Deputies arrest 2 men after robberies at Burger King, Circle K

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Two men are behind bars after Richmond County deputies said they robbed a Burger King and Circle K.

Christopher Oexner, 28, and Robert Cave, 44, are each charged with two counts of robbery by intimidation, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Oexner and Cave placed an order around 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the drive-thru at the Burger King located at 3431 Wrightsboro Rd. When they approached the window, they demanded money.

The employee closed the drive-thru window, and the manager called the sheriff's office, deputies said. They provided a description of the men to deputies.

About 30 minutes later, deputies responded to a robbery call at the Circle K located at 261 Fury's Ferry Rd.

When deputies arrived, they learned that Oexner entered the store, asked to use the bathroom and then asked for several pack of cigarettes, according to the sheriff's office. Oexner then demanded cash from the register once the clerk was behind the counter.

The clerk grabbed the phone and called 911 as Oexner fled to a vehicle where Cave was waiting, deputies said.

There were no reports of weapons and no reports of injuries.

Deputies later stopped a vehicle on Walton Way Extension around 1:30 a.m. Sunday and arrested Oexner and Cave.
