Doctors warn of pollen mixing with smoke

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Practitioners at Doctors Hospital are warning of problems from a high pollen count mixing with possibly smokey air.

Officials throughout the CSRA are reporting hundreds of open burn permits, meaning homeowners burning ice storm debris could contribute to reduced air quality.

The Augusta area is already seeing a maximum amount of pollen from trees, and dozens of patients have been through area hospitals suffering from respiratory distress.
