Chesterfield apartment fire displaces 2 families

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

A bad electrical wire is responsible for a Chesterfield apartment fire that displaced several residents Thursday night.

The fire started around 11:07 p.m. at 6302 Jefferson Davis Highway. Crews had the fire under control after 30 minutes, but the fire had spread through the walls and damaged a second apartment.

The people living in the apartment are being assisted by the Red Cross. No one was injured by the fire.
