A new program is working to get men and woman ready for basic training.
The future soldier program trains army recruits, mentally and physically, to prepare them for their journey in the military. The program in trains the recruits twice a week and makes sure they're up to date with military policies and standards. One future soldier recruiter says the program is making the transition from civilian life to a being soldier easier.
"It prepares them physically and mentally for basic training. A lot of times basic training can be a culture shock so what we try to do is minimize that culture shock. What I do here is eliminate a lot of the rumors and a lot of the things they see on TV that are fiction," said Sgt. Frank Stonom.
