3 people charged with trafficking cocaine

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Three people are behind bars after a six-month-long investigation into a drug distribution organization, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. 

Jerry Ulysses Cullars, 34, is accused of running the organization and trafficking cocaine, according to the sheriff's office. Lurline Tutt, 35, and Laporsha Williams, 35, were also arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine

Officers with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division and agents with the Drug Enforcement Agency executed search warrants Friday at three locations: 2030 Steiner Ave., 1315 Emmett St. and 1442 Swanee Quintet Blvd. 

They seized 1,822.2 grams of cocaine HCL, 192.2 grams of crack cocaine, an assault rifle, a Glock 9mm that was reported stolen, along with a vehicle, electronics, jewelry and more than $17,000 in cash. 

The three people are facing the following charges: 

 

  • Jerry Ulysses Cullars: trafficking cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, theft by receiving stolen property
  • Lurline Tutt: trafficking cocaine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, theft by receiving stolen property
  • Laporsha Williams: trafficking cocaine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

 

This case is still under investigation.
