WILLIAMSBURG, OH (FOX19) -

The Old Firehouse Brewery (OFB) plans to open its doors this summer in the village of Williamsburg, Ohio.

OFB is a family owned startup and the vision of proprietor Adam Cowan,  a local area resident and craft beer enthusiast. The brewery is located at 237 W. Main Street in Williamsburg, Ohio.

Cowan is a former firefighter and the idea of opening a business in a renovated firehouse was exactly the type of focus he wanted to bring to the business.

"I couldn't be more excited that the perfect location seemed to just fall into place," said Cowan. "The layout is ideal for the model I want to bring to life. We will have an open concept where the brewing equipment is part of the atmosphere along with a tap room and ample seating."

Five beers are being planned for the initial opening and include American and Indian ales, a porter, a Scottish red, and one other, "Probably a Kolsch or a pilsner," commented Cowan.

"I'm working closely with our brew master, Ben Ramsey, to finalize the selection for the brewery's first taps. We will announce new beers with the seasons and hope to grow the number of taps over the next 12-18 months," he adds.

While no official date for opening has been announced, OFB hopes to be in operation by early July.

OFB will not offer food but will partner with many of the local establishments to provide menus to customers. Additionally, customers can bring in their own food, including a home-made picnic basket, and OFB will serve the beer.
