Habitat for Humanity dedicates house to veteran

EVANS, GA (WFXG) - Habitat for Humanity donated a new home to a local wounded veteran today.

William Word and his family received a new home in a dedication ceremony and were surrounded by family, friends, and project participants.

The Augusta Warrior Project and the 319 Transportation Company Vietnam also helped in building the house.

Word says this gift and the support from the community is what makes this dedication so special.

"It feels good when people come together to help you and you see all this overwhelming support. It's something that you can't not have a good experience with it, it's absolutely amazing what they've done," he says.

Habitat for Humanity is using this project as a model for future homes to help wounded veterans in the CSRA.
