Two events are planned to kick off Masters week in Augusta.
The city is hosting "Par-Tee on the Green" on April 7 at the Augusta Common. The event is taking the place of the Mayor's Masters Reception, which was canceled.
"Par-Tee on the Green" is a dance party with music for all ages, including beach, soul, pop, jazz, soulful deep house, disco, afro beats and more.
This event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. and will feature performances by community dance groups, food trucks, golf demos, a drum circle and activities for the kids. A $1 donation is required to enter.
Organizers say attendees should bring chairs but leave pets and coolers at home.
A second event, Major Rager, is also scheduled for April 7. Hosted by the Friends with Benefits Fund, the concert features Umphrey's McGee and Moon Taxi.
The concert will start at 6 p.m. at the Jessye Norman Amphitheater along the Savannah River. Tickets can be purchased online. For each ticket sold, $5 will go to the Ronald McDonald House of Augusta.
This event will replace the city's former Par 3 Party.
