Women in Philanthropy grants presented

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - The Women in Philanthropy for the CSRA held their 6th annual grants awards presentation Friday.

Representatives from seven local non-profit groups were recognized by the organization and received grants to help their foundations.

$112,000 in grant money was given out and Kids Restart Inc. received the largest grant of $30,000, and representative Daniela Whitaker says she didn't believe the good news when she was first told.

"I don't know how the women in philanthropy could sit down and  try and break it down but then to hear that we received the biggest award, I'm just, I'm speechless," she says.

The other non-profits include: The Boys and Girls Club of the CSRA, Immaculate Conception Catholic School, The Lydia Project, Aiken Partnership at USC Aiken, ASU Foundation/GRU Literacy Center, and Mental Health America Aiken Co./Nurture Home.
