A Better Mid-South: 'Happy' in Memphis

Posted: Updated:
MEMPHIS, TN -

Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Action News 5 general manager:

(WMC-TV) – I realize the Mid-South has its issues. We complain about the crime, the politics, the economy, the school system, our basketball teams, and even the weather.

That's a whole lot of complaining.

Recently, we got a lesson from some of our youngest friends.

The students at Harding Academy schooled us on many of the great things about living in Memphis and the Mid-South.

These young people helped put together a video to the song "Happy" by Pharrell Williams.

The video mirrored the original video by Williams, but it embraced its own Memphis moments.

If you haven't had a chance to see the video, click here: http://www.wmctv.com/story/25000692/harding-academy-students-show-the-world-that-theyre-happy-in-memphis?autostart=true.

Go to Facebook and like my page, A Better Mid-South.

This video is sure to bring a smile to your face and will give you renewed faith in the young people who will be shaping the future of our community.

Seeking out the Happy will make this A Better Mid-South.
