BBQ and Bluegrass Festival helps local church

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The smell of BBQ and the sounds of bluegrass filled the Vineyard Church of Augusta this afternoon.

The church held it's first annual BBQ and Bluegrass Festival to help raise money for it's youth summer camp.

The event featured local bluegrass band Crying Wolf, and the church's pastor says they've done other fundraiser's before but this one was perfect for spring.

"We thought, hey let's do something that involves great food and some wonderful music and it's just great weather and it's coming together for a fantastic event today," says lead pastor Reese LeRoy.

LeRoy says he hopes this continues to be an annual event and if you want to donate to the camp scholarship fund visit their website.
