GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
The Greenville County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man wanted in connection with the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend on March 16, according to online jail records.
Deputies said the homicide investigation began after they responded to a 911 call about a gunshot victim on Rangeview Circle Sunday night.
Deputies said they located a 42-year-old woman deceased when they arrived at the residence at 11:24 p.m.
Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans said Janice Hackett was found dead inside her home from multiple stab wounds to the head and neck.
On Wednesday, 35-year-old Sylvester Keejaun King was in the Greenville County Detention Center charged with murder and possession of a gun or knife during the commission of a violent crime, according to online jail records.
According to warrants, King is the ex-boyfriend of Hackett. Deputies said King was found at an address in Spartanburg County and arrested Wednesday.
King was denied bond and Hackett's family was at the bond hearing where they confronted King, asking him why Hackett had to die.
"That was my baby sister....she was my world," Hackett's brother said.
