Second annual Corned Beef Sandwich fundraiser starts

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Second Annual Corned Beef Sandwich Fundraiser started Sunday morning.

Close to 1,000 sandwiches were made for people to eat at the Adas Yeshurun Synagogue and were also available for people for pick up for people that pre-ordered. 

The money raised from the two day event goes towards the synagogue and some local charities.

Members of the synagogue have been working for three days to prepare and synagogue president Jonathon Schoenholz says this is something the whole community can enjoy.

"I think that we're bringing a little piece of Jewish American culture to the community, something that everybody can enjoy and helps people in the community know a little bit about what our synagogue's about and maybe enjoy something that we're bringing to the community," he says.

You can buy sandwiches tomorrow starting at 10:30 a.m. and to pre-order a sandwich and ask about free delivery visit the Adas Yeshurun Synagogue website or call  (706) 733-9491.
